Academy Warriors Youth Basketball Program
Summer 2018 Season
July 10 to September 9
Beginning this summer basketball season, our Academy Warriors’ basketball teams will participate in the Southwestern College Summer Basketball League (SBL), which is sponsored by Southwestern College men’s and women’s basketball programs.
Academy Warrior Teams
We will have three Academy Warriors boys’ teams: 8u (8 years old and under), 10u (10 years old and under) and 13u (13 years old and under). SBL does not have co-ed teams. The SBL season dates are July 13 to September 9.
Our Academy Warriors basketball teams will play their games on Saturdays at Southwestern College’s new sports facility (900 Otay Lakes Rd., Chula Vista, CA 91910). Academy Warriors first SBL games will be on Saturday, July 13.
Although we have not yet finalized the location of our team practices, we plan to have two team practice days: Tuesdays, 5:30 to 7:00 PM and Thursdays or Fridays, 5:30 to 7:00 PM. Our first practice day is on Tuesday, July 10.
Registration Fee Returning Players
A $60.00 Academy Warriors registration fee is required for returning players. The registration fee includes team/league participation fee and end-of-season awards ceremony. Returning player registration fee does not include the cost of a team jersey--please contact Michelle Johnson if you want to order a new jersey for your player.
Registration Fee for New Players
An $80.00 Academy Warriors registration fee is required for new players. The registration fee for a new player includes the team jersey, team/league participation fee and the end-of-season awards ceremony.
The Academy Warriors team jersey is reversible, black and gold, with an Academy Warrior logo on the front side and a number on the back. In order for a Warriors player to participate in a Warriors game, he or she must wear the official Warrior jersey, black shorts, and black socks. We recommend players wear a black, short sleeve t-shirt under their jerseys. If your child is new to the Academy Warriors team or is a returning player who needs a new jersey, please contact Michelle.
Player Participation Requirements
A player cannot participate in any team practices or play in any team games unless:
- The player registration fee has been paid.
- Parent/guardian has submitted a signed “Release and Waiver of Liability Agreement.”
- Parent/guardian has submitted a signed “Participant’s Application.” form.
To submit required forms and pay the registration fee by MAIL:
- Complete “Release, Waiver of Liability Agreement” form.
- Complete “Participant’s Application” form.
- Make check payable to "AEA&A" and mail to AEA&A, P. O. BOX 530424, San Diego CA 92153.
To pay registration ONLINE:
- Complete and mail “Release, Waiver of Liability Agreement” form.
- Complete and mail “Participant’s Application” form.
- Mail completed forms to AEA&A, P. O. BOX 530424, San Diego, CA 92153.
- Make payment online.
